After Round 4 of the League, there were 7 left standing, with those who picked Cavan & Cork making it through. Louth and Fermanagh were both beaten by the slimmest of margins so a lot of lads found themselves out of luck!

Of the 7 remaining, 4 entries opted for Cork and 1 went with Donegal, with Maria McDonagh and Neil Rocks hoping Cavan would do the business.

However, Cavan and Meath couldn't be separated, which means Neil & Maria bow out of the competition. Donegal overcame Louth by 5 points and Cork beat a hat-trick from Kildare to improve their position in the League table.

Looking ahead to Round 6, there are now 5 in the running.

There are two fixtures which will be of interest on the Bank Holiday weekend - Louth v Fermanagh and Kildare v Donegal. Sharleen Murray will be hoping Fermanagh can keep some momentum against a decent Louth side, whose defeats have often been by a single point. That fixture could determine whether we have 3 going through to Round 7, or indeed, if Fermanagh win (and Kildare get beat), we may well have our winner!

If Donegal win on Saturday week against Kildare, their place in Division 1 of the League next season will be confirmed. The home side will have it all to do against the promotion-seeking Ernemen. With the teams at the opposite ends of the table, it might be unpleasant viewing for Una!

Roll on the 16th March !
