Hip flexors, shoulder girdles and abdominal muscles had a great workout on Sunday when Ashline Carragher led a fantastic Pilates class. There were plenty of smiles at the end of the class, as she wrapped up with a 15 minute guided meditation to ease everyone into the beginning of a new week.
The idea for the Pilates morning came about to mark the end of the first month of the new Running Club which Eibhlin Nugent has co-ordinated. It has been going well, and so many have remarked that it has given them the motivation to get their kilometres done and to get out to clear the head. It's never too late to start - get in touch if you fancy joining in.
The morning was rounded off with tea, coffee and an array of baked treats, many of which were kindly donated. Raffle prizes from The Rum House, Pilates with Ashline, Jagit Edge Hair Salon Keady, Mirror Image Hair Salon Newry and R8 Coffee & Cardio were snapped up by some lucky winners. Ita Gibney was chosen at random as the recipient of a lovely hamper for her participation in the Running Club so far.
A grand total of £920 was raised towards Club Development - your generosity in supporting Pi-lattes was amazing and we are very appreciative. A particular word of thanks to the businesses who donated the prizes and to the Ladies Committee who co-ordinated the day. It wouldn't have been possible without Ashline guiding the class, so we thank her for sharing her knowledge and making it enjoyable.
The feedback has been immensely positive, so stay tuned for another class to be announced - it's hoped there'll be something for everyone - men, women and children 🧘♂️🧘♀️
