Last Friday saw some of South Armagh's finest fashionistas descend on St. Michael's GFC for our Fashion & Fizz event.
The Spring/Summer collections from Kiva's Castleblaney; Brenda's of Keady; Snaubs Newry; Tracey's; Style Me Boutique, Armagh; Wear Once Loved; Millinery by Mairead; Shauna Fay; Country Gent & Elody Bride Newry were modelled beautifully by our models - Breanna, Siofra, Caoilfhionn, Connie, Jenna, Clar, Sharina, Noella, Ciara, Ita, Ann, Josephine, Teresa, Karen, Lauren & Sarah (who was drafted in having kindly provided make up for our models, alongside Niamh!) We can't forget our male models either, who brought the house down with their shy, unassuming catwalk presence........ Emmet, Shea, Joe, Brendan, Jack, Caolan, Charlie, Jack & Liam.
Our models did brilliantly despite having to face two flights of stairs in between each change - no mean feat in heels! A massive thank you to them for making our fashion show so enjoyable. The shops who dressed our models and those who had stalls - Brackley Candles, Soaps by Eileen, SAK MakeUp were lovely to work with and we thank them for giving up their time to support the event. It's so important to shop local and support our local businesses.
We also thank our Ladies Committee who helped to organise the event, provide refreshments, and run around behind the scenes to ensure all went as smoothly as possible. We were so grateful to all the businesses and club supporters who donated the prizes for our raffle, and to our compere, Pauline Donnelly for keeping us entertained as we watched the style. Pauline chose Kate Caherty as best dressed lady, congratulations Kate! A word of thanks to Martina Crilly for providing some decor to add to the glam.
There is a lot of work involved in preparing the hall for an event, so a word of thanks to the Committee members who helped set up chairs, lighting, & our stage, as well as the clean up afterwards.
Last but no means least, a special thank you to all who attended on the night to make our Fashion & Fizz worthwhile. The funds raised will be used for club development, so watch this space for an update on that. We appreciate your continued support.
