For the superstitious ones amongst us, it's often said that things come in 3's, and there was disappointment for a number of our teams last week.

Our minors were unfortunate to be on the losing end against Madden in their Quarter Final clash. The score line was 4.10 - 1.12 , but fair play to our lads - they've come together all year and stuck at it, and they're looking forward to a big day in our club on Sunday in memory of their teammate & friend, Dylan.

The U16s narrowly missed out on a final spot, losing by a point to Granemore.  The narrow margins are often the toughest to take, but this group have come on leaps and bounds this season, and will bounce back next year for sure.

It was a disappointing end to the Seniors' season on Saturday afternoon, with An Port Mór finishing the stronger of the two teams to advance to the JFC semi-final.  The men started really well, leading 0.4-0.1 after 10 minutes.  There was only a point separating the sides at half time, with the defence working hard and forcing errors from An Port Mór.  Both sides hit a number of wides, which proved costly for St. Michael's in the second half.  An Port Mór played with more purpose as the game progressed, and it wasn't to be for the lads.  Final score, 0.13 - 0.08.

A gallant effort all season, especially to top the group after the Championship group stages.  It is testament to the effort put in that we had a player included in the Sideline Eye Team of the Week, despite missing out on a final four spot. Well done Aidan Davidson, who you can vote for here for Player of the Week:

The U6s & U8s were on the road again in their orange and black, and enjoyed some GoGames against Forkhill.  The U8s & U10s are heading to Whitecross this week to put their handpassing & kicking skills into practice again, and the sun should be shining for them too 🌞

Our U12s added to the silverware this year, winning the Shield Final at the John Joe Toner Blitz in Clady.  They got beat last year in the semi-final so they went one better this year, showing that they're improving year on year!  Well done boys 🏆 Super effort!

The G4MOs travel to Cross on Wednesday evening, where the craic will be ninety - the teams have played each other a few times now so are well acquainted!

All roads lead to St. Michael's GFC this Sunday, when we host the inaugural Dylan Vallely Memorial 7-Aside Tournament.  The plans are coming together behind the scenes, with plenty of hands on deck as we get ready to host 12 teams to battle it out.  Further information will follow in a separate post.  It is sure to be a great day for our club as the '24 Season nears its end. 💙  🤍
