Five was the magic number for a few of our teams last week, with the U16s, Seniors and U16 girls all scoring 5 goals in their respective fixtures on their way to victory.

The U16 O'Doirnin Blues played really well to see off Grange by 2 points, winning 5-09 to 5-07.  Unfortunately, there was no such luck for the U14 Girls, who came up against a very strong St. Peters side in their clash on Sunday.  Keep up the efforts girls.

By all accounts, the U16 lads again gave a class team performance, this time against Eire Og.  They played some brilliant football right from the throw in and had a great first half, leading 4-7 to 2-1 at half time.  That was thanks to a hat-trick of goals from Darragh Murphy and one from Caolan Campbell.  The second half was much tighter, but the boys defended really well and worked some great scores and a goal from Noah McArdle left the full time score 5-9 to 2-4. Brilliant team effort 👌!

The Seniors continued their successful streak in a comprehensive victory over Kevin Murray's Mullabrack.  It finished on a scoreline of 5-23 to 1-06, with Emmett O'Malley and Sean McVerry finding the net, amongst others. A great boost for the men heading into Round 5, well done.

Senior Manager, Barra had a busy weekend with his County Minors battling into extra-time against Donegal in the Athletic Grounds.  The visitors managed to pull away in the latter stages after a nail-biting game in energy sapping conditions.  They'll have plenty to bring into their knock out fixture against Monaghan this weekend, best of luck to Barra, management and team.

It was also great to see a few spectators out to see our G4MOs welcome Pearse Og to Newtown.  With a couple of new faces joining for their first match, this initiative really has taken off this year.  There were refreshments provided afterwards, with both teams enjoying a cuppa together in the club rooms. Thanks to members of our Ladies Committee for helping out.  Training is on Tuesday 7-8pm if anyone wants to join in, all abilities welcome.

Our U10 girls had a busy afternoon at the Carrickcruppen Hub, having the opportunity to play against teams from Crossmaglen, Shane O'Neills and the hosts themselves.  Thanks to the coaches for assisting on the day, and well done to the girls who represented Newtown Emmetts with vigour!

The days are ticking towards the Ulster Finals this weekend, and there's lots of matches taking place before Saturday.  The good weather is set to continue so all support for the teams is welcome. Tickets information will be shared separately on our social media.  Whether you watch the Finals pitch side or from the armchair or highstool, we hope you all enjoy the matches.  Let's hope the ladies & the men can do an Ulster double.  Fingers crossed for no penalty shoot outs this year !  Ard Mhacha Abú  🟠 ⚪️  🟠 ⚪️  🟠 ⚪️
