The ol' cliche of 'goals win games' was definitely true last week, and whilst Armagh may rue their missed goal chances, our U16 teams were hitting the onion bag one after the other!

The U16 O'Doirnin Blues put in a particularly impressive final 15 minutes to see out St. Peters 5-12 to 3-10.  A super hard-fought result for the girls.

Newtown Emmetts O'Doirnin U16 lads had a good win against a young Derrynoose side. There was some brilliant finishing again from Darragh Murphy who had 7 first half goals and strong defending from all the lads left the half time score 7-2 to 0-1 . The second half was much the same with goals from Tiernan Johnston , Joe Vallely and Jay Cunningham and defending was key again with some great blocks and turnovers.  This made it very hard for Derrynoose, with our goalkeeper Callum making some brilliant saves. Full time score 10-8 to 0-3.

The minors were unlucky against Tullysaran, losing by a slim margin of 2 points, 4-12 to 3-13.  A gallant effort regardless. Photo credit for the action shots : Sineads Snaps.

Our Seniors had a fairly one sided encounter away to Killean.  There were solid performances all round, including from Conor Rock, Jack Carragher and Pearse Woods (0-6).  Plenty of lads got a run out and Shane Harte hit the net to seal the match.  They now sit joint top of the table with Silverbridge IIs, who will be the next opponent in Round 6 this Friday.

A shout out must also go to the U10s who enjoyed GoGames against Forkhill, hitting some fab scores and putting their kick passing skills on display.

We wish Claire Rock & the Armagh U14s good luck for their All-Ireland Semi Final against Leitrim.  The girls had a comprehensive win against Louth on Saturday, being fine ambassadors for the county.

Congratulations to Armagh LGFA on retaining their Ulster title in Clones, a victory never much in doubt early in the second half.  Whilst the Armagh Seniors & Minors weren't as fortunate, the Championship isn't over yet. We just need the blood pressure to normalise now after Saturday evening  🟠  ⚪️  🟠  ⚪️
