The U10 girls and boys welcomed Shane O'Neills to Newtown, with both teams putting on super displays in their respective games. After settling into their stride, the girls and boys showed their teamwork skills, trying to pick out players in good positions. The defence was put to the test by strong Shanes' teams, but Newtown Emmetts met the challenge. Brilliant effort everyone.
Up the road, the U6s & U8s hosted Belleek in Dorsey. The managers were delighted to see everyone chipping in, scores being taken and the team pulling together. The boys & girls will be eagerly awaiting their next GoGames, weather permitting! The coaches are putting sterling efforts in to organise regular Games for the players.
The U14s continued their impressive form, with a good win against Silverbridge II on Tuesday last in the preliminary round of Championship. Good displays all round and big scores from Oisin McCreesh, Adam Carragher, Cormac McGlinchey and Joe McVerry ensured progression to the next round. Tonight, the lads will play Sarsfields in the quarter final, good luck & come out to show some support.
Our Seniors will be wanting to get back to winning ways as they travel to Dromintee this Friday evening, having had a week's reprieve. Thank you to Colm & Maria Rock for sponsoring this week's MatchBall, and to Orlagh for being photo ready after playing her socks off against Shanes.
We wish Barra & his Armagh minors the best of luck as they play Kildare in the All-Ireland Tier 2 Championship semi-finals on Saturday afternoon. A great opportunity for the team, and it is great to see a Newtown man leading them with an All-Ireland final in reach.
Newtown will also be represented by Claire Rock, as the Armagh LGFA U14s are into an All-Ireland Final v Limerick! The girls overcame Leitrim on a convincing scoreline of 4-15 to 1-08. Ádh mór a chailíní!
Safe travels to all our members who are Croker bound on Sunday! 🟠 ⚪️ 🟠 ⚪️
