Only a few fixtures went ahead last week, as some opposition teams were unable to field.

The U8s & U10s hosted Whitecross in Newtown, and put in further excellent performances, continuing to get better with each week.  The players have gelled together really well this season.

The U16s had another fantastic result in extremely tough, wet conditions against Granemore.  The two teams were well matched in the first half, exchanging scores until a goal from Jacob Toner at the end left them 3 up at the break. Our lads came into their own in the second half and played the better football. Overall, a strong team performance, leaving the full time score 2-14 to 3-4 on a night only fit for the ducks !  This result also sees the boys tied with Eire Óg and Loughgilly Gaels on 12 points at the top of Division 4, so a play off fixture should be anticipated in the coming weeks. 👏

Jimmy may have been unimpressed with the Donegal's men trek to Hyde Park, but there wasn't a word of complaint from our G4MOs, who travelled to CLG Beart for the Ulster Ladies Blitz.  The ladies won three of their four matches and Manager, Paul Quinn unfortunately missed out on witnessing their scoring boots in action, 13 points in 14 minutes!  The club was proud to see the G4MOs team lining up with the 20+ other teams there, with their sights set on their next Blitz already.  The mantra from Saturday was "stick with the Gibneys and you'll not go wrong!" Well done ladies on the great performances. New recruits welcome!

This evening, our Minors overcame St. Paul's of Lurgan 4-20 to 3-14.  Everyone upped their game to ensure some much needed League points.  They all put in a hard shift and dug deep to finish out the game, with the Newtown contingent putting in a massive shift. Keep it up lads.

We hope to see plenty of local support for our U14 Newtown-Emmets lads tomorrow! Championship Final here we come, 6.30pm at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.  Thank you to the following businesses for their sponsorship:

⚫  NaDoirse Electrical – for kitting the lads out in brand new team sweatshirts.
🟠  Swiftys – for kindly sponsoring the post-match food.
⚫  Aidan O’Rourke Plastering – for providing top-quality new balls for training and match days.
🟠  OMCC Joinery – for sponsoring fantastic new kitbags.

Good luck lads, and to all our teams this week!!
