The League Shield Round 3 fixture against Shane O’Neills saw our Minors emerge victorious quite convincingly. The final score was 7-11 to 0-12, in a team which had 8 Newtown starters. The weekend was a busy one for our U10s, who played GoGames against Forkhill mid-week and rounded it off with the Mickey Crummy Blitz in Silverbridge. Even though they were missing a few of their regular players, the Newtown Emmets crew put some super skills on show. They played Group games against the Moy, Crossmaglen and Greenmartins, and later narrowly lost to Naomh Malachi in the Shield Final. They had a fantastic day, with farmer tans to show for it. Thank you to Silverbridge GFC for the invite, and for our coaches Shane and Benny who guided the team during the Tournament. The players are growing in confidence with each outing - Jayden was giving Ethan Rafferty a run for his money, popping up all over the pitch! 👏
On Sunday, it was the turn of the U14 Girls who travelled to Camlough for the James Brannigan Blitz at Shane O'Neills. They put a sterling effort in, facing the likes of local neighbours, Cullyhanna and the hosts, all of whom are strong opposition. The girls handled themselves brilliantly, and thanks to Shane's for the invite to take part.
Around the grounds this week is a lot more hectic, accumulating in a Super Sunday of action. Our U10 Girls will be hosting a Hub in Dorsey, which is exciting for this strong bunch of players. The U12 Girls play the next round of their Gold League. If that wasn't enough for you, please come out & shout for our Seniors in their Round 2 clash away to Eire Óg.
