The U14s were in action three times last week - they had a brilliant win over Shamrock Gaels 5-20 to 5-06, followed by a showdown with Patrick Rankins. A win would have seen them crowned League Champions, but they faced strong opposition. They were pipped to the post by a point - which meant both sides met again in the play-off yesterday. Fair dues to the lads, they dusted themselves off and came back all guns blazing. They ran out deserving winners 5-12 to 1-12, and will reset this week for the final on Sunday against Carrickcruppen ⚫️ 🟠
The Minors' match was postponed due to the weather conditions, and will play their Shield Final this Sunday too. Best of luck to our Newtown Emmetts O'Doirnins! They put in a great showing at the Dylan Vallely Memorial Tournament and we hope for the same efforts next weekend.
The rest of the fixtures last week saw the ladies in action. Our G4MOs travelled to Armagh Harps and played a series of games against the hosts and Tullysaran. Despite having lower numbers this time round, the girls had some fantastic spells of teamwork and scoring. Thank you to Harps for the invite to Abbey Park.
On Saturday, the U12 Girls took part in the Paddy Owens Memorial Blitz in Killeavy. They played Whitecross, Madden & Éire Og and did really well, reaching the semi-final of the plate. They were narrowly beaten by Killeavy, but certainly played their socks off. Well done girls & thank you to the coaches for assisting on the day.
A separate post will follow on our hugely successful Dylan Vallely Minor 7-A-side Memorial Tournament.
Good luck to all of our teams in action this week, especially our two teams in finals this Sunday. Show your support for these young sportsmen & let's bring some 🏆 back to Lower Creggan!
