Our U13 Girls travelled to Clann Eireann on Saturday to take part in their 13th Annual Marie Hoye & Caitriona McKeag Memorial Tournament.
The standard of football played was brilliant - hats off to the girls & coaches of all the teams. It was highly competitive & entertaining, a great advertisement for girls' football. It was especially exciting to have the six U12 girls join us.
We were unfortunate in the first 2 games, but in the third, the girls found their stride and we finished the group games with a win.
The Shield Semi-final against St. Peter's was the stuff of legend! A full-on battle against an older team, it finished in a draw. It came down to a sudden-death point, and what a moment for the girls to execute that winning point under immense pressure. It is a testament to their speed, teamwork, and composure.
We then faced the hosts, Clann Éireann in the Shield Final, who proved too strong.
