Seniors:
On Friday evening, the lads travelled to Middletown to play their next round of the Junior League. They settled well into the game, leading 0-3. There were good defensive tackles which kept Middletown at bay for the first twenty minutes, which was a statement in itself. Middletown then kicked into gear, and at half time, it was 0-5 each, with all to play for.
After the break, the visitors started well with points from Emmett O Malley, Aodhan Casey and Jonjo Powell. When Middletown went two points up, we took it back to a draw. With seven minutes to go, we led by two points but Middletown came back with two lates points to equalise. There was a solid effort put in by all players, with good teamwork on display and plenty to build on. It was good to come away from Middletown with a point.
Final score 0-12 to 0-12.
Scorers:
Jamie O’Hare 2 × 2 pointers
Emmett O’Malley 2 x 2 pointers & 0-1
Jonjo Powell 0-2
Aodhan Casey 0-1
Minors:
The minors were in action earlier this evening, but there was no luck against Ballyhegan. We were in a strong position at half time leading 1-6 to 1-4, thanks to excellent scores from Cathal Traenor, Charlie Rock, Jay Cunningham and Caolon Campbell. Ballyhegan hit a purple patch early in the second half and despite the best efforts of the lads, Ballyhegan ran out deserved winners 3-13 to 1-11. Next up is Tullysaran away next Monday. Keep showing up, lads 💪
U16 Boys:
These lads kept up their winning ways, making it 3 wins from 3, overcoming Eire Óg in Newtown. By all accounts, the two teams were well matched. Our boys started strong and moved the ball really well and worked some great scores. Goals coming from Cathal Davidson, Darragh Murphy and Oisin McCreesh left the half time score 3-5 to 2-1. After the break, Éire Óg to their credit came out firing, scoring 2 goals and 3 points without reply, but the lads settled down and tagged on 2 points. The teams exchanged scores and the game was level with 10 minutes to go. However, the boys showed great character and finished the game out strongly. A goal from Cathal Davidson and 2 more from Darragh Murphy who was on fire all night left the full-time score 6-11 to 5-8.
That victory puts the lads at the top of the Division 3 league table currently. Well done! Now to keep it that way👌
U14 Boys:
Last week's fixture was postponed, so the lads were put through their paces at training instead.
U12 Boys:
The boys had a lively game against Shamrock Gaels in Clady, with some tasty scores and good teamwork shown. The teams were fairly evenly matched. They'll have a further run out this week against Loughgilly Gaels, good luck!
U12 Girls:
Last week saw the girls kick off their League against a strong Mullaghbawn outfit. As the match went on, they settled well and got to grips with the visitors with good interceptions and a hard working defence. Round 2 tonight involved a trip to Dromintee, who certainly put it up to the girls. However, they dug deep and their confidence grew after each break. There are plenty of new players being blooded in, and everyone showed an excellent work rate.
U10 Boys:
These boys took it all in their stride when they welcomed O'Hanlons to Newtown last week. They tackled frantically, showed great kicking skills, both from the kickouts and their passing, with a few nice scores too. There's no rest for them as they host Shane O'Neills this Wednesday for some more GoGames.
G4MOs:
Not to be outdone, it was over to the Mothers & Others for their season debut as they took the trip to Newry to play Bosco GAC. It was a highly enjoyable evening's craic, with the match played in good spirits by both teams. Hopefully this will be the first of many outings for the ladies this season.

Congratulations to our various underage players who were on the receiving end of some silverware with their soccer club, Brookvale. There were successes across various age groups including Rory & Ronan Carragher and 4 of our U14s, Charlie, Oisin, Ruairi and Pauraic. Those are fantastic experiences for them to boost the confidence, which they can bring to their respective teams in Dundalk Street. Comhghairdeas a bhuachaillí!
There was also a fantastic double achieved by father & son duo, Gary & Donnacha Fay, who were part of the Swiftys Darts team who are the Armagh/Keady League & Cup Champions. Well done Gary & Donnacha 🏆
