Seniors:
Our Seniors faced stiff opposition in a much fancied Ballyhegan side, who are noted as having the best defensive record in Division 3. The scoreline was 0-14 to 0-08 when time was called. They're back out again this Friday, when Clady come to town so we hope to see plenty out to give them your support.
Minors:
Well done to our minors last night in a hard fought game in terrible conditions. Granemore made the most of the strong wind in the first half, and had a 6 point lead built up by half time. But our lads slowly but surely got control of the game, and hit the front for the first time going into the last 5 minutes with scores that included a two pointer from Aodhan Casey and a goal from Noah McArdle.
The final score was NEOD's 1:13 - Granemore 1:11.
We wish Cathal Hughes who picked up an injury in the first half a speedy recovery.
U16 Boys:
These lads were away to Wolfe Tones last week and a strong breeze made it a game of two halves. With the wind at their backs, the boys worked some great scores. A goal from Cathal Davidson and another from Jacob Toner, along with a fabulous 2 pointer helped to build an early lead. Another few points and 3 brilliant saves from Senan McCooey, helped by some strong defending left the half time score 2-06 - 1-01. In the second half, it was the home side who had the wind as their advantage. They used it to great effect, hitting 1-3 without reply in the first 10 minutes. The teams exchanged scores, and goals kept us ahead with 1 each from Cathal Davidson and Noah McArdle. Wolfe Tones kept pegging it back to a point and the last 7 minutes was frantic stuff. The boys defended with their lives to keep the visitors one ahead and a vital interception in the last minute by C McGlinchey ensured the 2 points were coming back up the road in the end. A good result and a great team performance again. FT score NTEOD 4-10 - Wolfe Tones 4-9 💪
U14 Boys:
No match last week - good luck tonight in the Championship Quarter-final!
U14 Girls:
The girls put in a great performance against Mullabrack, played in good spirits but came up short, final score 6-09 to 4-02. Plenty to build on girls, keep the heads up.
U12 Girls:
These troopers faced Killeavy in horrible conditions last night, but continued to put the hard yards in and showed some great teamwork. They're improving with each run-out, and growing in confidence too.
U10 Boys:
These lads will play Clady U10s before the Senior match on Friday night. Come along and check out our future stars, with many of them having taken part in the Gary Toner Blitz last week in Belleek. There's great footage over on the St. Michael's PS Facebook page of our players from the local schools in action.
G4MOs:
Armagh Harps took the trip to Newtown last Wednesday for an enjoyable game of football, despite the half time rain. The ladies were missing a few of their stalwarts but put on a good showing against a great Armagh Harps team, who'll also be taking part in the Ulster Blitz next month. Watch this space for more information on that!
