The Blow in Wine Club has run out of wine, the Bogey Men wish they'd never left the 19th and the WAGS are laughing all the way to the winners podium....

Our club fundraiser, the Family Fortunes Experience - Newtown style was a resounding success.  We are very proud to have great supporters around us, who came out on Saturday night to join in the fun.  Our teams fully embraced the blank canvas they were given, and some pushed the boat out more than others.  Special Forces may not have embraced the dress code, but three of them polished their heads and stuck it out to the Final!  Armagh-geddon and the Average Hoes brought the dance moves, and Licensed to Kill looked like they'd escaped from Alcatraz never mind a hospital!  Dromintown found out who the true Legends were, but Special Forces proved too strong for the muscle men from RFPT and the Newtown Legends.  Our Mothertruckers earned that much needed holiday they were dressed for, as the WAGs got their claws out in the semi-final!  Plenty of one liners, questionable answers and birthday celebrations for our club President, Aidan Carragher Snr and club secretary, Lauren Gibney, topped off a super event.

We couldn't have pulled the night together without the help from the following:
  • Melissa & her Family Fortunes crew;
  • Our fantastic-even-though-he's-from-Tyrone co-host, Paul Quinn;
  • Our Headline Sponsors - Cosy Bar & Swiftys Bar and JMV Excavations Limited;
  • The various Sponsors across all categories - all support & generosity was much appreciated;
  • The 12 teams who not only took part on the night, but many had organised fundraising initiatives in the lead up to the event;
  • Helen Gibney who gifted the class balloon displays;
  • Peter 'GOD' Canavan, for sending a message of support;
  • Our Sub-Committee for the last minute calls, meetings, approaching sponsors etc etc etc;
  • DJ Jo Mac for keeping the craic going into the small hours;
  • The Canal Court Hotel for their fantastic function room;
  • Those that donated to the raffle, including the Sub-committee, O'Neills Sportswear, Tesco, Airsquare NZ, SAFE Fuels, Aidan Davidson and McGeoughs Dundalk;
  • Slanes for putting on a bus to ferry people home safely;
  • ProSigns Camlough for our Sponsor Board;
  • Clar of CC Photography for capturing the antics - there are some clinkers for the album!
  • and YOU, our local community who warmly supported the event and cheered on our teams.
If we have forgotten anyone, please take this post as a thank you to anyone who contributed in any way in the run up to, and on the night of Family Fortunes!

The WAGS were the worthy winners on the night - men, stick with them & you'll not go wrong.

Enjoy having a flick through our 'Family' album.....
We are proud to say... BAILE ÚR ABÚ !!
