June kicked off with a full schedule of fixtures, and plenty of success for our teams.

The U14 Girls put in a great team performance in very tough conditions to beat An Port Mor 3.12 to 4.06.  They were behind most of the game, but never gave up and took the lead in the last few minutes to earn the win.

Our minors weren't as fortunate, losing to Eire Óg 2-16 to 2-11.  All players put in great performances, and were unlucky with a few decisions.  Everyone dug deep and should really have come away a result.  Onwards to the next match lads.  Tonight's game didn't go ahead as Patrick Rankin couldn't field.

Elsewhere, the U8.5s travelled to Oram and had a fun evening of GoGames against the hosts.  The training is paying off, as there is improvement each week.  They'll be welcoming Whitecross to Newtown this Wednesday, along with the U10s.

The U10 girls had a busy but productive morning in Crossmaglen at the U10 Hub.  They were super in all their matches against Cullyhanna, Carrickcruppen & Crossmaglen, and their coaches were delighted with their efforts, especially the team work and comraderie amongst this team 👏 .

The Round 6 tie between U16s and Clan na Gael was a close affair.  Our lads were down 3 points at half time, but played much better in the second half and fought their way back to level things up.  The two teams exchanged scores until the last 5 minutes, then the boys managed two unanswered points to win the game. Goal scorers on the night were Cathal Hughes, Noah McArdle and Jacob Toner.  They are sitting second in their Division, and have put in a strong season so far.

The U12s took part in the John Joe Toner Memorial Tournament in Clady GFC on Saturday.  They made it to the Shield Semi-final, in between the showers, but lost out to Middletown.  It was a great experience for this young team, and well done to the organising committee for another successful Blitz in memory of a talented young lad.

The U14s drew with Carrickcruppen in their Round 4 League clash, 3-09 - 3-09.  They're looking ahead to their Championship Final at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds next week against Shane O'Neills.  There was a great response for the Good Luck signs to raise sponsorship for the team, so keep an eye out on the road to Armagh for the well-wishes!  🟠  ⚫️

Our Seniors secured another two points in their match against Armagh Harps IIs, on a scoreline of 2-17 to 3-10.  Paddy McVerry & Bonzo got the goals on a day when Newtown could have won by a lot more, but strong performances around the pitch, including Benny Davidson, ensured the Harps comeback was in vain.  The lads are second in the table currently, and remain top scorers thus far.

Last but by no means least, we are delighted to see Claire & her U14 LGFA Armagh teammates crowned All-Ireland Champions '25.  By all match accounts, it was end to end stuff with an exciting finish, with the Orchard girls winning 3-10 to Limerick's 3-08.  A fantastic achievement and memories made for the girls to bring back to their club mates.  Well done 👏
Good luck to all of our teams this week, especially the G4MOs heading to the hills of Donegal for the Ulster Blitz.  Safe travels ladies.  We also hope everyone travelling to Cavan for Armagh v Galway has a safe trip ,  🟠  ⚪️
